General Surgeon and Surgical Oncologist

Associate Professor Susan Neuhaus is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and Clinical Associate Professor with the University of Adelaide. She graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1989 and obtained her Fellowship in General Surgery from Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2002. She practices both as a General surgeon and a Surgical Oncologist, with specialist interests in Melanoma and Sarcoma Surgery.

Susan has a PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) in mechanisms of cancer spread. In 2004 she was awarded the Lumley Fellowship to further her experience at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London. During this time she worked on the Melanoma and Sarcoma Unit and trained in a number of specialist techniques.

Susan holds an appointment as a Surgical Oncologist at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and is actively involved in teaching and clinical trials and collaborates with a number of multidisciplinary groups including the Adelaide Cancer Centre and the Royal Adelaide Hospital. She has published extensively, including papers on radiation induced sarcoma, retroperitoneal tumours, regional chemotherapy and gastro-intestinal stromal tumours and a textbook “Radiology in Surgical Practice”.
