Browlift

Face or neck lifts are surgical procedures performed to reduce the signs of ageing of the face or neck. In particular they correct facial lines and wrinkles, sagging facial skin and the "turkey gobbler" neck. These procedures will refresh your appearance and make you look more youthful. The surgery usually involves the tightening and removlal of sagging skin on the face and neck, and the rempvla or repositioning of excess fat. Facial muscles may be surgically tightened, improving their tone.

Will the procedure leave any scars?

The aim of the surgery is to make the scars as inconspicuous as possible and consequently they are usually hidden in the hairline. Scars usually fade with time however this will be dependent on the individual.

Will hospitalisation be necessary?

This depends on your general health and the extent of the procedure. Facelifts are sometimes performed as day surgery but normally people choose a 2-3 day stay in hospital to recuperate. Neck lifts are usually a day surgery procedure some times requiring an overnight stay.

When can normal activities be resumed?

This is very much an individual matter but most people take 2-3 weeks off work. Neck lift procedures require supportive garments for this period. Make-up can generally be applied after 7-10 days.

What is Brow Lift?

A brow lift is a surgical procedure that tightens and lifts the underlying muscles of the forehead. A brow lift can be performed for a number of reasons: to correct a sagging or low position of the eyebrows, creating a tired or sad look; to reduce deep horizontal creases across the forehead; to remove frown lines or furrows between the eyebrows and top of the nose, creating a worried or angry expression.

Will hospitalisation be necessary?

Brow lift is usually performed in hospital as a short stay procedure. You will need to be in hospital for about 2 days, however this will depend on the extent of the procedure. Many people have a brow lift performed in conjunction with a face lift in which case the hospital stay may be longer.

When can normal activities be resumed?

Most people return to work and a normal social life after 14 days, or sooner. Makeup may need to be used for a short period of time after this to camouflage any residual bruising. Any swelling should be resolved within 2 weeks. It may take up to 3 months for the area to completely settle and the final result become clear.

Are there any side effects?

As with any surgery, there is the possibility of infection, bleeding, bruising and swelling however these are minimal and are generally resolved over a couple of weeks. A more detailed explanation of possible complications will be explained during your consultation.
