Occupational Therapist and Hand Therapist
Belinda studied Occupational Therapy at the University of South Australia and is an associate of the Australia Hand Therapy Association (AHTA). She particularly loves the diversity and challenges that hand and upper limb injuries can present and is well vetted in the assessment and rehabilitation of unique pain and conservatively managed injuries, including nerve injuries, tendonitis, joint pain and the management of arthritis.
Belinda developed a particular interest in hand and upper limb injuries when completing a 2-month placement at a spinal cord injury rehabilitation centre in Bangladesh. By undertaking courses run by the AHTA and other hand practitioners, she is able to practice up-to-date techniques, staying at the forefront of hand therapy. Belinda was also a part of the 2017 National AHTA Conference committee, working closely with Kathy Minchin to show case Adelaide and develop a conference program with new and exciting material.
Belinda has incorporated hand therapy into various OT jobs in Adelaide, prior to moving interstate. She has been working in private hand therapy in Launceston, Tasmania since 2017. Liaising closely with orthopaedic surgeons, general practitioners and other allied health professionals; she still completes locum work in Tasmania when required.
